Getting Started
E-learning on a Shoestring Model
Many organisations interested in e-learning want a solution that is cheap and easy to implement. A common solution is as follows:
- Moodle Learning Management System
- Toolbox Learning Objects - downloaded for free from LORN then customised and rebadged
- Material created using rapid e-learning development tools like ARED, Udutu and others
- Organisation or training specific video, audio, animations and pictures
- Incorporating the organisation’s existing text-based material
- Utilisating Web 2.0 technologies for material creation (eg mindmaps in bubble.us, widgets in google), sharing (Del.icio.us bookmarks and Google Docs) and social networking (groups in Facebook)
- Skype, VET Virtual, Elluminate Vroom for communication and live classroom interaction
- Sourcing other learning material from resource repositories such as Training02
