E-Learning Innovations Programs 2008

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

The E-learning Innovations Program in Tasmania is a component of the 2008 Australian Flexible Learning Framework. The focus is on partnerships and clients either industry or learners or a combination of both.

From the twenty applications received and considered by the Selection Committee eleven projects were approved for funding: five private RTOs and five teams from TAFE Tasmania. The total value of the projects funded is $250,823.

It is evident that project teams have formed strong partnerships with enterprises such as Caterpillar Underground Mining, PFD Food Services, Community Based South Inc, Country Club Casino, Spirit of Tasmania, Department of Health and Human Services, Cripps Nubake, Banjo’s and Master Plumbers Association.

For further information on any of the successful projects please contact the E-learning Innovations Coordinator, Fiona Huskinson, Skills Tasmania on (03) 6233 2140 or fiona.huskinson@skills.tas.gov.au

Learn how to make your own online resources quickly and easily

AREDv2 (Application for Rapid E-learning Development) is an e-learning development tool designed to allow teachers and trainers, with little more than basic computer skills, easily build their own online resources.

Users choose from six common and basic e-learning templates into which they can simply insert subject material. The created activities can then be used independently or loaded into a learning management system as part of a learning program.

The one-day ARED workshop will be a hands-on experience that will allow participants to become familiar with and use ARED/

Interactive sessions will include: • an overview of ARED; • an introduction to the ARED administration tools and six dynamic templates; • using of check lists thfor the pre-development activities and file management; • hands-on experience in the use of three of ARED’s dynamic templates to create media rich materials at can be used as e-learning materials or placed delivery platforms; and• using ARED administration tools to create a learning sequence.

Participants will need computer skills including an understanding of basic file management using Microsoft’s Windows Explorer.
