Learn how to make your own online resources quickly and easily

AREDv2 (Application for Rapid E-learning Development) is an e-learning development tool designed to allow teachers and trainers, with little more than basic computer skills, easily build their own online resources.

Users choose from six common and basic e-learning templates into which they can simply insert subject material. The created activities can then be used independently or loaded into a learning management system as part of a learning program.

The one-day ARED workshop will be a hands-on experience that will allow participants to become familiar with and use ARED/

Interactive sessions will include: • an overview of ARED; • an introduction to the ARED administration tools and six dynamic templates; • using of check lists thfor the pre-development activities and file management; • hands-on experience in the use of three of ARED’s dynamic templates to create media rich materials at can be used as e-learning materials or placed delivery platforms; and• using ARED administration tools to create a learning sequence.

Participants will need computer skills including an understanding of basic file management using Microsoft’s Windows Explorer.

Workshop dates are scheduled for 2009 - the sessions run from 9-4pm and places are restricted to 10 participants per event. Workshop dates to be announced soon WATCH THIS SPACE.

The Education Network Australia (edna) team will hold a workshop on 21 July in Hobart. Participants will be challenged to consider their current digital learning footprint, what use they are making of web 2.0 tools, particularly social networking environments, and how edna can contribute to professional and student learning.

The programme is in place for one day workshops in each state and registrations are now open. There is a small charge to cover venue and catering, and places are limited.
